DoNotChange Ransomware is a type of malware that encrypts your files and demands a ransom to decrypt them. This ransomware is especially dangerous because it uses a strong encryption algorithm, making it nearly impossible to decrypt your files without the proper decryption key.

DoNotChange Ransomware is spread through email attachments and malicious websites.

Once DoNotChange has infected your system, it will scan your hard drive for certain file types and encrypt them. DoNotChange Ransomware will then display a ransom note, demanding that you pay a certain amount to get the decryption key. Unfortunately, paying the ransom is no guarantee that you will get the decryption key; in fact, you may never see your files again. DoNotChange is a serious threat to your data, and you should immediately remove it from your system.

History

DoNotChange Ransomware was first discovered in November 2016. At that time, attackers spread it through email attachments. The email would claim to be from a legitimate company, such as DHL or FedEx, and would contain an attachment that appeared to be a shipping label. When the user opened the attachment, DoNotChange Ransomware would encrypt their files. DoNotChange Ransomware would then display a ransom note, demanding that the user pay 1 Bitcoin to get the decryption key. The DoNotChange Ransomware attack was short-lived, and no known victims have come forward.

In May 2017, DoNotChange Ransomware resurfaced. This time, it was being spread through malicious websites. When a user visited one of these websites, DoNotChange would automatically download and install itself on their system.

What encryption algorithm does DoNotChange use?

This ransomware uses the AES-256 encryption algorithm.

Prevention

There are several things you can do to prevent DoNotChange Ransomware:

– Keep your antivirus software up to date

– Do not click on pop-up ads

How do I know if I am infected with DoNotChange Ransomware?

You will see a ransom note on your screen that demands you pay 1 Bitcoin to get the decryption key. The ransom note will also give you instructions on how to pay the ransom. DoNotChange Ransomware will also change your desktop background to an image that contains the ransom note.

How can I remove DoNotChange Ransomware?

To remove DoNotChange, you will need to use a malware removal tool. We recommend using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. This tool can detect and remove DoNotChange Ransomware, as well as other types of malware.

Once you have removed DoNotChange Ransomware from your system, you should change all of your passwords. This ransomware may have stolen your passwords, so it is important to change them to prevent the ransomware from accessing your accounts.
