Help50 is a new ransomware that was discovered by MalwareHunterTeam. This ransomware is being spread through exploit kits and once it encrypts a computer, it will append the .Help50 extension to encrypted files. It will then display a ransom note named READ_ME. Help50, which demands a ransom of 0.05 Bitcoins or about $200 for the decryption key, but the ransom note also states that the price will double after 3 days.
Just like other recent ransomware, this ransomware will also scan the infected computer for documents, pictures, music, videos, and other personal files and then encrypt them using AES encryption.
To protect yourself from Help50 Ransomware and other ransomware, it is important to have a good backup strategy in place. This way, if you do get infected, you will not have to worry about losing your data. We recommend that you use an offline backup solution, such as an external hard drive or a cloud storage service. You should also make sure that you stored your backups in a location that is not accessible from your computer to prevent ransomware from encrypting them.
You should also install a reputable antivirus program and keep it up to date. Additionally, you should avoid opening email attachments from unknown senders and downloading files from untrustworthy websites. Attackers spread Help50 Ransomware through exploit kits, which means that it can take advantage of vulnerabilities in your software to infect your computer. Therefore, it is important to keep your software up to date to patch any security holes that Help50 Ransomware and other malware could exploit.
If they infected you with Help50 Ransomware, the first thing you should do is disconnect your computer from the Internet to prevent the ransomware from encrypting any more files. Then, you should use a reputable anti-malware program to remove ransomware from your computer. Once Help50 has been removed, you can then restore your files from backup.
We recommend that you do not pay the ransom. There is no guarantee that the attackers will provide you with the decryption key even if you do pay. Additionally, paying the ransom will only encourage them to continue developing and spreading Help50 Ransomware. Instead, focus on trying to recover your data from a backup. If you do not have a backup, you may be able to use a data recovery program to recover at least some of your files. However, we cannot guarantee that this will work and it is always best to have a backup to fall back on.
We recommend using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to remove Help50 Ransomware. This program can detect and remove Help50 Ransomware as well as other malware from your computer.
Once Malwarebytes Anti-Malware has been installed, run a scan to detect Help50 Ransomware and other malware. Once the scan is complete, you can then remove the detected threats by clicking on the “Quarantine Selected” button.
How to decrypt Help50 encrypted files?
There is no public Help50 Ransomware decryption tool available at this time.
We recommend that you wait for a Help50 Ransomware decryption tool to be released before attempting to decrypt your files. Trying to decrypt Help50 Ransomware encrypted files without a decryption tool could result in the permanent loss of your data.
If you do not have a backup and are unable to decrypt Help50 encrypted files, you may be able to use a data recovery service. These services specialize in recovering data from Help50 infected computers.
We recommend that you research data recovery services before selecting one. Some data recovery services claim to be able to decrypt Help50 Ransomware encrypted files, but they may just be trying to take your money.
Additionally, some data recovery services have been known to infect their customers’ computers with ransomware themselves. Therefore, it is important to research a data recovery service before using it to make sure that it is reputable and will not put your computer at risk.
