Fabiansomware Ransomware Data Recovery

Fabiansomware Ransomware is a type of malware that encrypts your files and demands a ransom for the decryption key.

History

This ransomware is named after the Fabian Society, a British socialist organization, because it uses its logo in the ransom demand message.

Fabiansomware was first discovered in June 2019 by MalwareHunterTeam. It is believed to be a variant of the Sodinokibi ransomware, which is also known as REvil. Fabiansomware shares many similarities with Sodinokibi, including the use of the same ransom note and encryption method.

How does Fabiansomware Ransomware work?

Fabiansomware encrypts your files using RSA-2048 and AES-256 encryption algorithms. Once it has encrypted your files, it will append the .fabiansomware extension to them. For example, a file named “sample.jpg” would be renamed to “sample.jpg.fabiansomware”.

Fabiansomware also deletes your backups in an attempt to extort more money from you. It does this by deleting shadow copies and Windows backup files. This makes it difficult to recover your files without paying the ransom.

How can I prevent Fabiansomware in the future?

To prevent Fabiansomware in the future, you should use a reputable anti-malware program and keep your backups in a safe location. You should also avoid opening email attachments from unknown senders, as this is how Fabiansomware is typically spread.

What types of files does Fabiansomware encrypt?

Fabiansomware will encrypt most types of files on your computer, including images, videos, documents, and more. Any file with an extension that Fabiansomware recognizes will be encrypted. This includes common file extensions like .jpg, .png, .docx, and .mp4.

How much is the ransom?

The ransom demand for Fabiansomware is typically 2 Bitcoin, but the ransom may vary depending on the victim.

The ransom note includes instructions on how to pay the ransom and states that the price will double if you do not pay within 7 days. The ransomware developers may also offer discounts for paying the ransom within a certain time.

Should I pay the ransom?

We do not recommend paying the ransom, as it supports the development of future ransomware attacks. Additionally, there is no guarantee that you will receive the decryption key even if you do pay the ransom.

What should I do?

If attackers have infected you with Fabiansomware, your best option is to restore your files from a backup. If you do not have a backup, you can try using a data recovery program to recover your files. However, data recovery may not be possible in all cases.

How can I remove Fabiansomware Ransomware?

To remove Fabiansomware from your computer, you should use a reputable anti-malware program. Fabiansomware is a sophisticated piece of malware, so manual removal is not recommended.

Is there a public decryption tool?

Yes, there is a public decryption tool available for Fabiansomware. The tool, called Fabiansomware Decryptor, can be downloaded from the Emsisoft website.
