CryptoHasYou Ransomware Data Recovery

CryptoHasYou Ransomware

CryptoHasYou is a file-encrypting malware that was released around the beginning of December 2019. CryptoHasYou Ransomware is being distributed via malicious email attachments and it will encrypt the majority of files found on an infected computer. Once CryptoHasYou Ransomware has encrypted a file, it will append the “. CryptoHasYou” extension to the end of the filename. For example, if CryptoHasYou Ransomware encrypted a file named “1.jpg”, it would be renamed to “1.jpg. CryptoHasYou”.

After CryptoHasYou Ransomware has finished encrypting all the targeted files, it will drop a ransom note named “README_DECRYPT.txt” in each folder that contains encrypted files. This ransom note will contain instructions on how the victim can contact the CryptoHasYou Ransomware developers and make a payment to get a decryptor tool.

CryptoHasYou Ransomware is yet another ransomware that is currently being distributed and it is important to remember that paying the ransom demand will not guarantee that you will get your files back. There have been many reports of victims who paid the ransom but never received a decryptor tool. If it has infected you with CryptoHasYou Ransomware, we recommend that you do not pay the ransom and instead focus on trying to restore your files from a backup.

How much is the ransom?

The CryptoHasYou Ransomware ransom amount is currently unknown, but the developers are likely asking for a large sum of money. They have provided an email address in the ransom note so that victims can contact them and negotiate a price.

How to protect your computer from CryptoHasYou Ransomware?

Protection against CryptoHasYou Ransomware and other similar threats can be achieved by using a reliable anti-malware program and keeping your backups safe. Also, you should avoid opening email attachments from unknown senders.
